Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where are you located?

    Tempe, AZ

  2. Where are your products made?

All of Baja Motorsports products are designed in the United States with input from our state of the art factories in Asia.

  3. How long is the warranty and what does it cover?

Baja Motorsports products come with a limited 90 day manufacturer’s warranty against defects in workmanship. This warranty covers all major frame and engine related issues that are due to manufacturer defect. Components, such as cables and brake pads, are considered ‘wear and tear’ items and are not covered under our limited warranty. For further assistance in determining if your product has a warranty issue, please contact our customer service number.

  4. Where can I find parts for APC and Panterra Units?

Baja Motorsports carries a VERY limited stock of some APC and Panterra units. To find out if we have a part for your APC or Panterra unit, please contact our customer service department. Baja Motorsports recommends searching online, as many online ATV and dirt bike shops carry parts compatible with the Chinese made models such as APC and Panterra. Baja Motorsports did not design or originally sell APC or Panterra products.

  5. Is your service center listing available online?

Baja Motorsports works hand in hand with over 1200 independent service centers across North America. To respect their privacy, we do not have an online posting of those service centers that are authorized to repair your unit under warranty. If you are experiencing a mechanical issue and would like to be referenced to one of our service centers, please contact our customer service department. When calling please have your receipt close at hand.

  6. Do you carry aftermarket parts?

Baja Motorsports does not carry any aftermarket parts for our vehicles at this time.

  7. Where can I find aftermarket parts?

Baja Motorsports recommends that you attempt to find aftermarket parts locally before purchasing from online dealers. Many of the smaller ATV and Dirtbike shops will carry universal parts that may work on a Baja Motorsports unit. As a reminder, altering your product with aftermarket parts will void the manufacturer limited warranty on your product and is not recommended.

  8. How fast will the unit go?

The speed of our Baja Motorsports vehicles depends on the size of the unit, the weight the unit is transporting, as well as other factors such as altitude and terrain. As a reminder, always operate your unit at half speed during the break in period, as this will result in better performance in the lifetime of the vehicle.

  9. Where do I ride this type of unit?

Baja Motorsports has a full line of products, from street legal scooters and motorbikes, to off-road dirt bikes and ATV’s. As each state has unique laws regarding the use of on and off road vehicles, Baja Motorsports recommends you check with your state’s Department of Transportation prior to purchasing your unit about riding restrictions.

As with any transportation unit, Baja Motorsports recommends full safety equipment when riding your vehicle. This includes but is not limited to Pants, Jackets, Knee and Elbow Pads and thick, sturdy shoes or boots. ALWAYS WEAR A DOT HELMET WHEN RIDING ANY SORT OF RECREATIONAL VEHICLE.

  10. Do I need any type license to ride this?

Licenses depend upon state legal requirements. Before purchasing any recreational vehicle, please check with your local Department of Transportation for registration and licensing information.

  11. Are there any accessories that go to the go karts or ATV?

At this time Baja Motorsports does not support any accessories or aftermarket parts for any of our product line. We build them to be fun from the start.
Maintenance
  1. What type of gasoline should I use in my vehicle?

Use clean, unleaded gasoline, with an Octane rating of 89 or over. Never use gasoline’s containing more than 10% (E10) Ethanol or 5% Methanol by volume. Doing so could damage engine and components
  2. Does oil come in the machine?

Yes, your machine comes filled with oil from the factory. However, always check oil level before starting engine. Use only recommended oil types and quantity as specified in the owner’s manual. Change engine oil according to the time/distance intervals specified

  3. What is the Break-in phase of a machine?

The Break-in phase of a machine is very important. During this period, the engine’s moving parts become set and acclimated to mechanical movement. While the time of the Break-in period is different for all units (check your owners manual), during this period the vehicle should not be accelerated past half speed.

Failure to properly Break-in your unit can result in poor performance for the lifetime of the vehicle. This includes difficulty starting, lower top-end speeds, slower acceleration and rough engine sounds.

  4. How much assembly is required?

Most units arrive mostly assembled from the factory, and many of our retailers pre-assemble Baja Motorsports units for a small charge. If you need help or didn’t receive assembly directions with your unit, please visit our website or contact our customer service department and that information can be emailed to you.

  5. Is there premixing of gas and oil needed?

All of Baja Motorsports products are four stroke engines, and thus don’t require the use of a mixture of gas and oil. All of our products use regular, unleaded fuel. For optimal performance Baja Motorsports recommends using the highest grade of fuel available. Mixture of oil and gas within one of Baja Motorsports units will void the limited manufacturer warranty.

  6. What is the process of having service work done?

If your unit is experiencing engine or frame issues that you feel are a result of manufacturer defect, the first step is to immediately stop riding the vehicle. Continued riding of the vehicle may result in more extensive damage, which may not be covered under warranty.

First, many of the symptoms these units have require just basic mechanical work that can be troubleshooted over the phone. Secondly, all of our service centers are independent dealers who work hand in hand with Baja Motorsports, and they request of us that we contact them to make sure they have the availability to work on a product before it comes to their floor.

  11. This is a run-around. Why can’t I just return the unit to where I purchased it?
  12. Baja Motorsports is proud to stand behind our product, and that is why we have our 90 day limited warranty.
